October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Author Kristie Cook is asking us to "Share the <3"! 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men just in the United States have been victims of severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime (Center for Disease Control statistics). You likely know someone who lives through this nightmare every day - a relative, a friend, a coworker or a neighbor down the street. Too many don't live. And too many children witness the violence to/between their parents - or are direct victims themselves.

Thankfully, help is available. Unfortunately, not enough people know whom they can call for help - safely and privately. The National Domestic Violence Hotline provides this kind of secure resource, helping survivors of abuse do what they need to do to reach safety and restart their lives. I, along with Kristie, many other authors, bloggers and readers, ask you to join us in supporting The Hotline so it may continue to provide the refuge people need. Help us "Share the <3" because "all <3's deserve to feel safe."

If you can donate even $5 to The Hotline, you could be supporting one phone call that can save a life. And for each dollar you donate, you can be entered to win Kristie's Share the <3 Giveaway! Finding My Way by Megan Keith review

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Finding My Way is a story about three people trying to find their way in the current dating scene.  Seth is a wholesome, down to earth guy that is ready to settle down with the love of his life, as soon as he finds her.  Nick is the typical commitment phobic playboy, screwing any woman that gives him the time of day.  Emma is a woman that never participated in the dating scene, she was with her high school sweetheart for seven years.  The book starts out with Emma getting the shock that her ex-boyfriend, Josh, is seeing someone, they broke up almost a year ago.  That shock is a wake-up call for Emma.  She’s done grieving the broken relationship and ready to find someone new.  Enter Seth.  They work together.  After Emma’s wake-up call, Seth suddenly sees Emma as a woman he wants to date.  Meanwhile, Emma and Nick, a man she met at the train station, have been flirting with each other.  Nick plans to be “friends” with Emma in the hopes to get in her pants.  Nick and Emma hangout eating pizza and watching zombie movies.  Emma is worried about the attention she’s getting from the two men.  She doesn’t feel comfortable juggling them both, but her friends encourage her to just have fun. What comes next is the rollercoaster ride of Emma’s life.  What will happen?  Will Emma find her dream man in Seth or Nick?  Will Seth get his happily ever after?  Will Nick realize there’s something to the notion of true love?

I was excited to read this book.  I had it on my TBR pile for awhile.  I became skeptical when I first started reading.  The beginning seemed to focus on Emma’s relationship with her ex, Josh.  I was anxious to move on, I knew they broke up.  I wanted the good stuff.  Fortunately, the good started up pretty quickly after that.  I loved the interactions between all the characters.  It was funny when Seth and Emma would try to catch glimpses of each other at work.  Nick was also hilarious with his trying out mattresses while helping Emma shop for a new bed and acting like a zombie when they watched the zombie movie.  Seth was endearing in his dream of settling down with a family of his own.  Nick pissed me off by hooking up with one-night stands even though he was dreaming of Emma.  I felt Emma’s turmoil in trying to pick the right man for herself and her heartache when she realized she couldn’t be friends with Nick.  This book made me laugh, it made me cry, and it made me want to smack Nick upside the head.  Maybe Seth and Emma too.  This book was a journey for the characters and had me wondering till the very end.  Who would be the best man for Emma?  Would it even be Seth or Nick?  Overall, I give it 5-stars.  It was easy to read, and I can’t wait to read more about the characters.

Keltor by Jennifer Sage review

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I really loved this book. It had everything a great story needs. Adventure/action, romance, suspense, and mystery. The adventure and actions start right from the beginning. Liz, the heroine, is attacked and rescued by the brooding hero, Keltor. Liz is thrown into the world of the Guardians, protectors of the Light.  She is the Keeper, she has the power to tip the scales in favor of either the Light or Dark.  Keltor is a Guardian of the Light that is still grieving the loss of his family centuries ago.  The romance comes when Keltor and Liz fall in love. What happens when they’re separated?  Will they survive the war to live happily ever after?  Will their love survive?  Knowing they're rushing to battle adds to the suspense.  Will the Light overcome the Dark? And finally, mystery. Why was Wolff, leader of the Shadow Demons, evil and will the Guardians find out the truth about him?   What is the Pure One/Mother hiding? So many questions were left unanswered.

I loved this book.  I loved the adventure.  I admired Liz’s strength to deal with everything thrown at her.  My heart broke for Keltor knowing all he endured.  I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would compare this book to BDB and the Dark Hunter series.  If you like those books, you will love this book.  If you love paranormal, adventure, and romance, you will love this book.

Immortal Dreams by Jennifer Sage review

Another great work by Jennifer Sage.

This book is action packed and sexy from the start. Isabel is a 22 year old student living in a small town. She is frustrated because she wants to have a relationship with someone, she wants to have sex. Unfortunately, every time things start to heat up between herself and a man, a storm comes on, literally. Lightning, wind, and even a tornado. Everything changes on the night of her 22 birthday. Isabel wakes up in a strange land. There she meets Prince Bodhe. He tells her he is Sidhe and informs her that she is also. Things get intense between them and she wakes up. Was it all a dream? Where did her pj's go? Isabel then discovers a letter from her mother. Everything Bodhe told her is true. She must choose her true love from two men, Prince Bodhe of the Sidhe or Morkain an elf, to break a curse that is tearing apart the veils between the worlds and keeping her mother in a sleeping state. She has her best friend, Amele, to help her learn about her history and new abilities. But something sinister is afoot. Someone is scheming against Isabel. Is it Bodhe or Morkain? Who is her true love? She must choose the right man to save the worlds from darkness.

I loved this book. It was fun and sexy throughout. Isabel was trying so hard to determine which man she loved and not just be swept away by foreplay. The chemistry between Isabel and Bodhe was scorching. Immortal Dreams was also filled with suspense. I think I seesawed between Bodhe and Morkain at least every chapter. At first I thought Bodhe was evil because of his arrogance. Then I'd change my mind and think Morkain was bad because he didn't expect Isabel to do anything but enjoy his touch. Then it would be Bodhe again. My goodness, this book had me guessing till the end. Overall, I loved it, can't wait for Amele's story, and recommend it to anyone that loves a great story.

Pictures, Lies and Promises by Tiffany Carmouche - Cover Reveal

Pictures, Lies and Promises, "the 4th installment in the Alaska series, is another nail biter. Literally, it picks up right where Becoming Invisible leaves off, with my hand over my eyes peeking through the crack, staring at my kindle while holding my breath. I kid you not, I was scared! I might have to sleep with the lights on! All of our favorite characters are back, well actually my favorite characters are the three hot guys, Dylan, Brad, and Chris. It's true that I'm proudly a member of Team Dylan who I want to end up with our heroine Nicole. However that doesn't mean that Brad doesn't have a special place in my heart too. Especially after he is man enough to be loving to a scared little girl. He won my heart with the mermaid song... *sigh* I'm a big fan of this series and I can't wait for the next installment. I still have questions that need to be answered and hot guys that need to find love."~Rose Puls

Immortal Reborn: Choices of the Heart (Children of Angels, #3) by Natalie D. Wilson review

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Alexandria has finally become immortal and embraced her Nephilim side.  This book follows Alexandria and the immortals/Nephilim as they race to find and destroy the Fallen Angel, Rangor.  Alexandria must learn to control the gifts the Lord gave her.  She has decided to live fully as an immortal, giving up the job and life she was building for herself in New York.  Alexandria and the other immortals travel to New York to pack up her apartment and investigate a book store they suspect is run by the fallen.  They’ve discovered that the fallen are running three bookstores in New York, London, and Scotland.  The immortals rush to each bookstore hoping to take Rangor unawares.  However, Rangor has other plans and forces Alexandria to face him in the same church that Arianna perished in.  Ultimately, the choice is Rangor’s, to either accept the light the Lord is offering or to perish forever.  Alexandria has also decided who she will give her heart to in marriage.  ***spoiler alert***  She has decided to marry Gaius and continue the life they once had.  They plan to marry immediately after Rangor is destroyed.

I enjoyed this book of the Immortal Reborn series more than book two.  It was much less repetitive.  I loved the relationship Alexandria and Gaius shared and the loyalty they felt for each other.  I enjoyed the interaction between Alexandria and immortals she hadn’t had the opportunity to meet in the previous books.  I admired the strength Alexandria showed when fighting the fallen.  I was sad that Kronis died to save Alexandria, but I was glad he embraced the light and was no longer suffering.  I would love to read more about the characters in this series.  It would be fun to follow Jack, Iain, Sabina , and the other Nephilim’s lives to learn more about them and where their lives lead them.
